Being a teacher of Spanish as a language for foreigners: the second language of teaching in Europe

As shown in the conclusions of the Telefonica Foundation Project the economic value of Spanish, published from Ariel which was presented this Wednesday in Madrid, Spanish language has been established as the second language of teaching in Europe, leaving behind French and German.

These are very good news about our language, but still there is a long way to go with three key challenges, especially in the dimension of international communication: first challenge is the recognition of its status as language of communication in forums and international organizations, since in fact, as Delgado says, "Spanish doesn´t have the status of a real language for work as English, French and German do. The second challenge is its Strengthening as scientific language, particularly in natural sciences, biochemical sciences, engineering and technology. And the third challenge is to increase their appearance in the web, although, as shown by the data collected, it is the second language of international communication in the network, both by number of users and web pages.
In any case, having a specific training as a teacher of Spanish for foreigners, which enables you to work as professional in the field of ELE, undoubtedly opens new doors for working in a world where we always see, think and speak in Spanish.
