Spanish teacher in Paris: ideas to learn a second language

Hi friends of the Instituto Hemingway: I'd like to make the most of the fact that I finished the ELE course to propose you to help me a little bit with one of my experiments.

See, almost a week ago I got to Paris hoping to learn French (language that I've never studied) and I decided to undergo an 'autoevaluation' process: each day I write down a 'word agenda', expressions or interesting thing about the French language that I'm learning. I hope that, in a couple of months, when I'll look down at this diary, as Machado said that the agenda would be some sort of 'path' actually it is a path I'd like to walk again (with other languages). I'd like to build little by little some 'rute' something that can document my French learning process since my French language at the moment reaches a level where I can have fluent conversations.

Why ? At first it won't be anything that can help me undersatanding how I learned a new language living in the country, and in the future can help me in similar situations with other languages. But if I find out interesting things throughout my processI'd like to dedicate more time and get to make methodology alternatives according to my own experience as a the learning of a foreign language living in its own country which makes my experience even more realistic (it can't be better contextualised when each day I have to go to the bakery and buy a baguette).

And this is when your collaboration comes in. I'd like to hear your opinions regarding the methodology that I should use what, how and why I should write on the diary (for example the things that I hear once or the things that I can already handle).

Help me in my attempt of showing through my own experience the bases of a (practical) learning of a foreign language. this is what I'm asking you.

Thank you very much !
