Course for Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers

Spanish conversation teacher in France: Teach Spanish Course

Hello all, my name is Rocío and I am 25 years old. I have studied translation and interpretation. When I started studying I never thought that I would enter the world of teaching, let alone the teaching of my own language!

However, after a few years I was offered a course in teaching Spanish as a foreign language in my university. I was not entirely sure whether it would fulfil my expectations and awaken my curiosity. It was not a lengthy course, in fact it left me wanted to research further the ins and outs of Spanish and broaden my training further.

After finishing my studies, I came across a course offered by Instituto Hemingway and I took a look at the program and its contents, and decided to join-up. Importantly, it appeared to be a very instructive course, as well as offering one the flexibility to study at their own pace. I was able to combine the workload of my job with the course, fitting the latter around the former. I benefited from the effective, understanding and helpful approach of my teacher Alfredo Orive, as I progressed along the course.

Having completed the course, I went on a scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Education, which involved being a conversation tutor in France. When I received news of the opportunity, I decided immediately to launch myself into a new adventure that permitted me to apply all that I had previously learned. Working in a high school and a college provided me with a series of positive experiences, the ability to give classes and compare the different ways both schools was run. Also the help and advise that different teachers gave me meant that I could gradually establish a rapport with the students.

It was a great 7 months, I learned a lot and developed in many ways. I encourage fellow Spaniards, if you have the opportunity, to go for a scholarship like this! Thanks to this opportunity I have realised that I want to continue training in this field. I think this course is ideal for anyone that would consider applying themselves to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
