History of Spain: An overview of Spanish history from Roman times to the modern era: The Arab invasion and the Christian reconquest, Spain's monarchy, Spain's society and identity from 1936 to the present. The role of the church, women, social classes, and nationalism will be discussed. This course is conducted in English.
History of Spanish Art: A survey of major works of art from prehistoric times through the present. Painting, sculpture and architecture are examined in the context of their time and place in history. Special attention is given to the art and culture of Seville. This course is conducted in English.
Spanish Civilization and Culture: Spain's multicultural civilization from its Roman roots to the "movida" of post-Franco Spain. Recurrent themes in Spanish national ideology and culture will be examined: Spain as a crossroads of Christian, Jewish and Islamic cultures; linguistic and cultural diversity; regionalism and nationalism; dictatorship and democracy. This course is conducted in English.

International Marketing: An introduction to international marketing. Topics include analytical techniques used in international market research, determining prices and distribution channels in an international context, marketing across linguistic and cultural borders. This course is conducted in English.
The European Union: The course will analyze the initial motives behind the creation of the European Community and its subsequent development into the European Union with a unique institutional structure. There will be a study of the EU's key common policies - Economic and Monetary Union, Competition, Agriculture, External Trade etc - and their global effects; paying special attention to EU-US relations. This course is conducted in English.
The Global Economy: The course will explore the main debates surrounding the nature, effects and attempted management of the Global Economy; paying special attention to the role of international organizations such as the IMF and WTO, as well as moves towards economic regional integration (EU, NAFTA and Mercosur). This course is conducted in English.
