Wine Tasting: The most successful cultural activity during our Spanish course

Here in Spain gastronomy and wine have a lot of tradition. 

Each month our Spanish course students participate in a wine tasting, a very successful cultural activity which we offer at Instituto Hemingway.

This summer as it has been very hot, our sommelier Alfredo chose different white wines, because they are lighter than red wines.

First of all, we learnt a lot of interesting things about the wine, like the most important cultivation regions in Spain, the scent of the wine and the process of wine production.

Some of our students already know a bit about the wine and during this activity they can expand their specific knowledge.

A very successful part of the tasting  is when our expert sommelier Alfredo hands out some small bottles with different scents and the students have to identify which wines are in them.

The whole of the wine tasting is directed towards getting our Spanish students to taste the wine from a new perspective.
