Spanish classes and visits to museums
This week has been a week dedicated to history. On tuesday we went to the Museo Maritimo . We had a great time visiting the exhibitions of the sea thieves, or pirates. We found it fascinating. Apart from the pirates, we read very interesting stories about the river, Bilbao and the basque sailing and the boats , in short, the stories associated with the sea and the sailors.
And yesterday we've visited Gernika. Gernika it's located less than one hour in train from Bilbao. Our students from the Spanish course have been pleased to get to know this town known all around the world for the terrible bombing that happened in the 1930s. Although there has been a big traged, the small town is amazing and the museums are incredible; the exhibitions are super creative, modern and have the latest technologies; One of the exhibitions includes a reproduction of Peace and Human Rights that really touched us.
Our students attending the courses of Spanish for foreigners really appreciated the visit. Of course a large part of the credits goes to our teacher Borja, a great historian and expert in the Basque culture.
And to end well the visit, we had a "small Basque afternoon snack", a huge burger :-)
Don't miss the opportunity of studying Spanish with us and get to know the Spanish culture outside the classrooms of the instituto, because the best is to live it.
