Come to the alternative theatre and music street festival : Bilboko Kalealdia

We encourage students to take part in additional activities during their stay, which we plan on a daily basis. If you take a Spanish course with us in Bilbao, you can enjoy a range of shows planned for the week starting the 27th of June. The festival involves both theatre and music, in the streets of Bilbao.

The festival, which finishes on the 2nd of July, also involves acrobatics. The capital of Biscay will become an enormous stage, offering both visitors and locals alike an array of artistic shows.

Bilboko Kalealdia is a festival which aims to bring art to the people on an unorthodox stage; the street. This year, from the end of June to early July we will celebrate another edition of this festival of culture. Throughout these 6 days a grand total of 56 artistic performances will take place, put on by artists from the Basque Country and Spain, as well as by international performers.

The festival offers a broad selection of events which include theatre, circus acts, dance, music and acrobatics. As events take place simultaneously, rather than choosing whether to go to an event, your only difficulty will be choosing which of the many events on offer to attend each day. Performances take place at various points dotted around the city. The Doña Casilda Park, the Arenal zone, the area around the Arriaga Theatre and the Plaza Nueva will all play host to street performances.
