Blue wine, cava and wine tasting after Spanish lessons

Do you like wine? Do you feel at home with other people who consider themselves lovers of wine? If your answer is yes, then you’re going to like this article. As you know, at Instituto Hemingway we offer our students wine tasting sessions as one of our free activities. Wine is a very popular drink, as much in terms of consuming it as discovering new things in the field of grape and wine production.

Recently, a new type of wine has entered the market - blue wine. This wine, called Gïk Live!, is completely different to its counterparts. Its creators promote the idea that Gïk is not a wine in itself, but that it is produced from a base of different Spanish wines from producers who want to convert their product into something different and innovative. The production process includes colouring the wine so that the drink takes its blue colour. In terms of its flavour, Gïk is not and neither is it meant to be a drink with a ‘predetermined use’. The creators didn’t want to put another standard drink on the market; on the contrary they wanted to be different and please its consumers as much as possible. Specifically for this reason, Gïk has a sweet flavour, which allows buyers to have it on any occasion they feel appropriate.

This “scented wine-based drink” is profoundly blue in colour. It is a blue which surprises you and which you don’t trust at first, but believe me you will change your mind after trying it. Gïk was designed to appeal to the consumer, and for this reason it has a pleasant and unique flavour, and a colour that symbolises innovation. This novel product is attracting lots of attention, and it is for this reason that the creators, from the Basque Country, hope that Gïk will gain many fans. It is very reasonably priced at €10 per bottle, and at the moment if you order a bottle from their website, delivery is free across peninsular Spain. Don’t miss out!

Maybe one day we at Instituto Hemingway will add this luxurious and innovative drink to our tasting list. We don’t fear change and we move with the times, of that there is no doubt! For now though, we invite you to our wine and cava tasting session on Wednesday the 28th of July at 6:30pm, to taste Jerez on Wednesday the 3rd of August at 6:30pm, and to taste a new range of red and white wines at 7:30pm on the 18th and 29th of August.

If you are interested in coming to one of our wine tasting sessions or taking part in any other activities that come free with our Spanish courses, email us at: info@institutohemingway.com
