While spending our holidays trying to catch all these grand moments with a camera, we all turn out to be at least semi-professional photographers, so that the future being of us in ten years or more will remember that experience. Undoubtedly, one of mentioned moments would be a visit to the forest of Oma, which is a piece of land art, designed by Agustín Ibarrola in 1984. To see the artwork’s central meaning: the connection of our forefathers’ cultures with the current ones, you can comfortably go by car or by train walk combination through the wonderful landscape. The message is displayed by various paintings on trees, which he uses as surfaces, and which you might not consider as art when you look at it from a close point. Honestly, you will see from afar or from another angle of vision. By arrows, as signs on the ground, visitors can easily find those perspectives and take other paths through the forest, to make this trip an individual experience. So, how did Antonio Machado express that in one of his poems: “Walker, there is no path, you make the path as you go.” It is a really recommendable excursion, as well as good chance to escape the vibrancy of the city and festival. Maybe you go to see it after your morning class or at the weekend.

Another destination of interest for those who fancy the series “Game of Thrones”, but also for them who aren’t watching it, is the little island of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. It, apart of having a complicated name, offers beautiful nature. Furthermore in October you will be abled to be behind the scenes, and to see famous actors when they are filming for the new season. From Bilbao you can go there by bus continued by a short hiking trip through hilly terrain. You should go to see the chapel of the isle it is truly worth it.
