Paul Simon, one half of the world-renowned music duo Simon & Garfunkel and now a successful solo artist, has announced he will be performing live in Bilbao at the Biskaia Arena on Thursday 17th November! Now 74 years old, Paul Simon arose to fame in the 1960s after forming the duo Simon & Garfunkel with fellow singer songwriter Art Garfunkel. Their immediate success was so great that they became icons of the decade’s social revolution, being regarded alongside esteemed artists such as the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Bob Dylan. Some of their most famous hits include The Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs. Robinson and The Boxer, all reaching number one in charts worldwide. In 1981, over 500,000 people attended The Concert After Dark in New York City, making it the seventh largest concert attendance in history.

Since 1970, Paul Simon has also pursued an incredibly successful solo career. Some of his greatest hits include You Can Call Me Al, Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover. Simon’s received 12 Grammys throughout his career for his solo and collaborative work, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and then in 2006 was selected as one of the 100 People Who Shaped the World by Time magazine.
