We would like to invite all of our students on a trip to San Sebastián!

We are pleased to announce that on the 8th October we will be spending a day in San Sebastián! All of our students are welcome. Come with us to enjoy a day getting to know the European culture capital of 2016.

This is a great opportunity for a getaway to this marvellous city. We leave at 10am from Instituto and then travel for an hour by bus. We will have almost the whole day to explore the city. San Sebastián is the European culture capital of 2016; there are beautiful beaches, excellent food and unforgettable scenery. We will walk through the city getting to know the most iconic buildings and learning a bit about the culture. To satisfy all tastes, we will sample the Gipuzkoan pintxos and marvel in the impressive views.

San Sebastiàn, also called Donostia, is a lovely seaside town situated just 20km to the west of the French border in the arch of the Bay of Biscay. Its landscape is dominated by Concha Beach and architecture built from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is easily the pearl of the Basque Coast. Mountains surround Donostia; among which is the Urgull mountain that shelters the town’s small port. Thanks to its location, its friendly atmosphere and its gastronomy, San Sebastián has been for hundreds of years one of the most fashionable Spanish tourist destinations. In fact, the Spanish royal family has a summer palace there.

Furthermore, San Sebastián plays host to internationally renowned events such as the International Film Festival and the Festival of Jazz. It really is a culturally diverse and beautiful city that you must visit during your time in the Basque Country.
