Come and visit the Invisible Film Festival

The Invisible Film Festival 2016 will be hosted in Bilbao between 17th and 23rd October!

The Invisible Film Festival is an alternative film festival dedicated to portraying current social problems. It tackles issues that affect millions of people but are widely ignored in mainstream cinema, such as gender inequality, human rights, social injustice, interculturalism, solidarity, cooperation and the environment.

It also acts as a meeting place for many of the individuals who have heavily involved themselves in tackling such issues that are so prominent in today’s world. If you are interested in these topics it is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet some of these influential figures involved in the battle to make our world a more equal, healthy, safe and sustainable place.

The Festival is organised by a company called ‘Kultura, Comunication y Desarrollo’ (KCD). Their focus is to encourage human, intercultural, equitable and sustainable development through cultural activities such as film.

The festival began in 2009 and after only a few years it became a fixed date in the calendar for all social and environmental activists. This year, the 8th edition, they will be showing 57 documentaries, 19 works of fiction and 10 animations in 15 different theatres throughout the Biscay region. Overall there are a total of 86 pieces of work from 47 different countries all created for one cause.
