Leisure activities with spanish courses in Bilbao. Wine tasting 29 of August at 7:00 p.m.

Are you ready for another very interesting wine tasting? Next 29 of August you will have a new opportunity to satisfy your curiosity about wines.

All the students of spanish courses are invited to partecipate in the tasting.

The objective of this tasting is to appreciate different flavors of wines depending on the type of grape selected and the presence of more or less barrel flavors.

For this time we have chosen three very special wines:
- SOMMOS CRIANZA 2013 : The grape selected for the production of this wine belongs to the wineyards of Montesay and Monesma.

To make this wine, three grape varieties are used separately. The fermentation is done in a traditional way at 26 degrees and the maceration is 7 days. After the malolactic fermentation is carried out into French oak barrels, after which the three varieties are blended.


Raised on their lees in a selection of French oak barrels for 9 months and later in bottle.
The color that characterizes this wine is intense ruby red with violet hues. The aroma stands out for being intense and complex because of the mixture of red and black fruits with the spicy aromas of the wood.


In the mouth it presents a soft attack, broad and with long post taste. The grape varieties protagonists in the elaboration of this wine are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.


-SOMMOS COLLECCIÓN MERLOT

The grape used in the process of making this wine comes from the vineyards of Montesa. The harvest takes place the second week of September and is nocturnal, that is, it takes place from 12:00 a.m. At 8:00 a.m.

And the grape is selected on tables.


The maceration is carried out in cold for 48 hours and the fermentation is traditional in vats of French oak with temperature control fermenting at a temperature inferior to 28 degrees.


The maceration with their skins takes place during 15 days, after the alcoholic fermentation. The malolactic fermentation is carried out in new French oak barrels.

Once this is completed, a careful selection of the best barrels and subsequent assembly. Raised on their lees in a particular selection of new French oak barrels for 12 months.

The color is intense cherry red with ruby tones, clean and bright.
Aromas of good intensity and quality where they appear with well-ripe red fruits, with mineral and spicy notes.

In the mouth it is tasty, structured and perfectly balanced. Fruity and spicy tones stand out and conferring a great complexity to it when is tasting, very persistent.

-NIETRO ALIANZA DE GARAPITEROS 2015

Wine that comes from the D.O. Calatayud. The varieties used are 100% of old vines.

The vineyard comes from the Sierra de Pardos, in the municipality of Castejón de Alarba.

The cultivation is done in a traditional way in glass at an average altitude of 900 meters. Slopes with very poor soils with little organic content.

The average age of the vineyard is 40 years and its yields are 2 kgs per vine. These characteristics make us find ourselves before a vineyard with very particular and unusual characteristics.

The vintage is made in the first week of October and is a manual vintage box.
