Spanish course and wine tasting, November 7: tribute to Bodegas Valtoñar
Next November 7th at 7pm strong> we have scheduled another wine tasting for all students of Spanish courses, teachers and friends who want to join us. On this occasion, we will taste wines from Bodegas Valtoñar b> Bodebas Valtoñar b>
We know personally the winery, its good work and the passion that the whole family has for good wine. That is why this tasting, we have scheduled, is a tribute to the winery and its owners and an opportunity for all our students to know the good work of a small winery in one of the most prestigious wine regions in Spain: Ribera del Duero.
Valtoñar belongs to a family of vine growers settled in Ribera del Duero at least since the 17th century. The name of VALTOÑAR comes from a place in the Ribera del Duero where the cultivation of the vine goes back to time immemorial. The winery is located in ANGUIX (Burgos). It is the population with the highest density of vineyards and wineries in the Ribera del Duero. The Manvirgo slope, where the vineyards are located, is the reference point of quality of this Denomination of Origin. VALTOÑAR has 25 hectares of vineyards from the Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties.
On this occasion we are going to taste three tinos wines with well differentiated characteristics. We will taste a young wine, a vintage wine and an author wine. In this way we will learn how the flavors of wines change according to age and time in the barrel.
These are our wines for our next tasting:
Valtoñar Tinto JOVEN - 2016 strong> Intense cherry red with purplish nuances, well covered, fresh, soft and fruity. Made with tempranillo 90% and Merlot 10%.
Valdoñar Tinto BARRICA - 2016 strong> More than 5 months aging in barrel, cherry cherry with violet edge, intense aromas of ripe red fruits with vanilla and creamy notes, long and balanced in the mouth. 100% tempranillo
Valdoñar - Domain of Castellares Author Wine 2011 strong> Selection of grapes from old tempranillo vines 100%. Raised in French oak barrels for 12 months. An exceptional wine based on a unique selection at the discretion of its author.
During the course we will learn the best techniques of wine tasting, how to serve wine, drinks to use and all this will help us to learn Spanish words. It is a cultural activity directed, especially, to our students of the Spanish courses and to students of the Spanish as a foreign language courses. So we are waiting for you next Tuesday in this exciting tasting tribute to our friends from Bodegas Valtoñar.
