Spanish courses and wine tasting: in Bilbao on Wednesday 22 November

17 Nov 2017

The next Wednesday, November, 22 2017 at 7 pm we invite you to participate in a wine tasting that we have organized at the Institute. Wine tasting is an activity for all students of Spanish courses and people interested in learning about the world of wine. If you are in Bilbao and you want to learn new things, do not hesitate and learn to taste with us.

This time we are going to taste 3 very different red wines that come from different places and varieties. They are long aged wines –reserva wines- so we can contrast different styles within aging.

These are the three wines that we are going to try:

Glorioso Reserva 2013
Bottled by Bodegas Palacio. This rich wine shines red with a deep purple rim. It exudes a delicate smell and intensity that recalls ripe berries, aromatic herbs, and fennel. Excellent balance in the mouth-a vast, deep taste, fresh and enthralling. A mature wine boasting dryness and sweetness perfectly integrated with a lasting, rich aroma.

Sommos Reserva 2012 is a wine of Sommos Winery from Somontano Denomination of Origen. Wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. Aged in French oak barrels for 9 months. Limited edition of 15,000 numbered bottles.

Intense ruby red color with violet nuances, Intense scent and complete blend of red and black fruits with the spicy aromas of the wood. Mouth, soft attack, broad and with long aftertaste.

Viña Tondonia 2003 is a red Rioja wine with a selection of mazuelo, graciano, garnacha, cariñena, garnacha negra, garnacha tinta and tempranillo of the 2003 vintage and with an alcohol content of 13º. This Viña Tondonia Reserva 2003 is an excellent red wine to take with grilled meats and lamb. A red wine valued in guides and professional magazines with Robert Parker score: 90 and peñín note: 92.
