Cultural and leisure activities for Spanish students in Bilbao: December 2017

We have our new cultural activity program ready for December for our Spanish language school in Bilbao. You can download it here or find it in the agenda at our website www.institutohemingway.com. All the activities are free and the goal is that you can meet other students and learn more about the culture, city and of course improve your Spanish.

On December 4th at 19:30 we will have a wine tasting and we are going to taste nougat. This dessert is dough with delicious nuts, honey and other ingredients such as chocolate or caramel.

We are also going to visit ¨Puerte viejo¨ which is located in Getxo and where we will explore the small and beautiful centre of the Basque country with small white houses and it´s streets.

On December 18th the students will challenge each other for table football. . This game is played with a table that recreates a small football game, but with a lot of emotions!

For the more relaxed students, the day after the table football game, we are going to an exposition of Bethlehem during the ¨Semana Santa¨ in Bilbao. We will see a fantastic Christian representation. They have a great quality and use different materials for the representations.

When you want a party, Instituto Hemingway is inviting you on December 21th to celebrate ¨Santo Tomás¨ and one of the most delicious courses, which is a very big tortilla with maize, cheese, chorizo and many other flavors.
On December 27th we have a special activity. We are going to the¨Euskalduna¨ theater to see opera ¨Carmen¨ by Bizet. This dramatic work will take us to Seville of 1820 where we will suffer the adventures of the beautiful gypsy Carmen with love.

To all these fantastic activities we added some others such as the Basque Museum, which has a large collection of representative antiques. We are going to visit the Cathedral of Santiago and it´s cloister which is one of the few remaining in the Basque country. And we are going to visit the typical Bilbao bullring where we will experience the feeling of being in an arena.
