Activity with the Spanish courses: wine tasting 20th March 2019

This March we will try red wines of excellent quality. Three recognized reserve wines.

The next March 20 at 19:00 hours we will have a new opportunity to satisfy your curiosities about wines.
All students of Spanish courses are invited to participate in the tasting.
The objective of this tasting is to compare three wines from Rioja and Ribera de Duero

For this occasion we have chosen three very special wines; Reserve red wines.


- Haza County 2014


Condado de Haza is the second winery built by Alejandro Fernández in the Ribera del Duero. In the nearby town of Roa, they cultivate their fetish variety in a vineyard located on a slope of poor soil and perfect south orientation. In total, 200 hectares of vineyard that surround the winery so that the grapes arrive quickly and in the best possible state to the building.

At the sight it presents a nice ripe cherry red color with a ruby ​​border, very well covered with a layer.
The nose is elegant and intense , displaying aromas of berries at the time (blueberries, strawberries and blackberries) along with notes of the Spicy series (pepper and oregano), magnificent balsamic touches (eucalyptus and licorice) and memories of scrubland.
The mouth confirms its elegance on the nose, being soft and velvety , with a noble and well-molten tannin. It closes with a long and persistent ending, with intoxicating memories of vanilla.


- Lan Reserva 2011

Lan Reserva 2011 was born from a vintage qualified as Excellent and one of the biggest of the 21st century. The grape Tempranillo, majority in its varietal blend, presents its more subtle and mature nuance, resulting in a complex wine , of great aromatic richness and extraordinary journey. His successful upbringing augurs a long life ahead.



Color Garnet cherry well covered.

Fine on the nose, intense, appear aromas of red fruit seasoned , spicy (pepper and cloves), memories of blond tobacco and aromatic herbs ; noble woods.

With an excellent balance on the palate, tasty, friendly, silky step , sweet tannins integrated, good acidity, fluid and with a long and persistent finish.

- Barón de Oña Reserva 2014
Tempranillo based on a particular selection of different plots in Páganos (Álava): Camino de Laguardia, San Martín and Vallecilla. After choosing the most suitable wines for this coupage, They were aged in American oak (60%) and French (40%) barrels for 16 months. It has a cherry red color with a visible tile border.

In its fine and intense nose, it shows aromas of ripened seasoned fruits , spicy notes, hints of pastry and memories of blond tobacco with pleasant aromatic herbs sensations.

The palate is tasty, with an excellent balance and kindness. Develops some tannins fused in the whole and a kind step, resulting silky and enveloping, with an elegant and long finish ..
