Activities for December

30 Nov 2020

We finally made it to the most exciting, cosiest month of the year – December! Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, it’s difficult not to get excited by the lights, food and community feel. We kick off this month with a trip by funicular up Monte Artxanda for the beautiful views overlooking the city. The following Friday we will visit the Arte Sacro museum.

Our second week begins with a cinema trip, useful for testing out our listening comprehension skills in Spanish in a fun way. Following that, we will visit three more museums: the renowned Guggenheim art museum, designed by Frank Gehry, Bilbao’s Maritime museum and the Bellas Artes museum.

Changing tune, we will then be attending three concerts: Flamenco, Beethoven and the final one by the Bilbao Municipal Band. With such variety and talent on offer, it would be a shame to miss them.

A week before Christmas we will be going to an escape room! For those detectives among you, this one is for you. A chance to solve clues, have fun and bond with your classmates in a new way, will you be able to escape?

After Christmas, (¡Feliz Navidad!) we will visit the old town, Casco Viejo, and wander the streets looking in the cute shops and many churros places, as well as seeing the Cathedral.

To round off the year, we’ve decided to go for not one, but two, wine tastings with our very own Alfredo Orive, and his expertise. What a perfect start to your New Year ’s Eve celebrations!
