Activities this September for our students at Instituto Hemingway

Now that summer is coming to a close, and we begin to enter into the autumn months, it's time to make the most of the last of the summer wine. We have no less than four wine tastings this month, covering white wines, red wines and cavas. Alongside these, we are going to be exploring the beautiful city of Bilbao from the river to the bay, stopping at various sites of importance along the way.

On Wednesday 1st September at 16:00, we are exploring Casco Viejo as the first stop on our tour of the sites along the Ría. We´ll travel a bit further down to the Guggenheim Museum on Friday the 3rd at 16:00.

Get ready to enjoy some delicious pintxos on Monday the 6th at 19:00, before getting a masterclass in white wine tasting on Wednesday 8th September at 19:00. We will finish the week with a trip to the Basque Archeological, ethnographic and historical Museum on Friday 10th September at 16:00.

Join us as we indulge in some chocolate con churros on National Chocolate Day (Monday 13th September) at 16:30! On Wednesday the 15th we have yet another exciting wine tasting for you, this time with the Spanish sparkling wines known as cavas. Our final activity of the week involves heading to the Museo Marítimo to learn all about the importance of the Ría (estuary) and the Bahía (bay) to Bilbao.

We´ll start the week of the 20th with a red wine tasting (Monday 20th at 19:00) before exploring the city up to the coast by bike on Wednesday 22nd at 16:00. The highlight of the week will be an exciting boat trip across the bay: take in the views from Portugalete and Santurtzi to Getxo on Friday 24th September at 16:00!

Our final week in September will be kicked off with a wine tasting session at 19:00, before our final activity of the month being a trip to Puerto Viejo on Wednesday 29th September at 15.30.
