Tasting of Jerez Sherry with the students of the Spanish courses

On Monday, September 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. we have scheduled a new activity for the students of the Spanish courses.

Come with us this afternoon to enjoy Spanish Jerez. We will taste Sherry or Jerez wines together with our international students. We wait for you at the Institute at 7:00 p.m. as part of Spanish classes in Bilbao

During the tasting we will learn to taste various Sherry wines. We will start with the base wine, fine palomino. We are going to start with the Castillo de San Diego, which is an icon for Bodegas Barbadillo and a national benchmark. Floral, fruity, harmonious, light ... More than a wine, Castillo de San Diego is a way of being.

Later we will go in to taste Almonte, a light Manzanilla from Bodegas Hidalgo-La Gitana in Jerez with palomino Fino grape variety.

Our third wine will be Alfonso, which is a dry oloroso made from Palomino fino grapes. From the González Byass winery in Jeréz de la Frontera. With a minimum of 8 years in American oak casks, following the traditional system of "criaderas y soleras". It is very intense on the nose and tasty and long on the palate.

The fourth wine will be Heredad de Hidalgo, Pedro Xiemenez Perfect with desserts, especially ice cream. Tasting note: Very sweet dark colored wine. In the mouth it is dense and velvety with hints of dried plums. Intense nose with hints of raisins and ripe fruits.

We will finish with Valdespino Cream Sherry is a wine made in the Valdespino winery in Jerez de la Frontera, one of the oldest wineries in Jerez and with very generous wines like this one. Valdespino Cream Sherry is a wine made by mixing Palomino (type of grape) and 25% Pedro Ximénez.

We are sure that we have the opportunity to enjoy different styles of Jerez and learn about its elaboration, style ...

A good opportunity to practice Spanish and learn more about our wine culture
