Cultural activities taking place in November 2021

2021 is beginning to draw to a close, with the days getting darker and cooler as we head into the upcoming winter months. At the Instituto Hemingway, this November is going to be all about great food and great culture, with an exciting mixture of activities which will allow our students to truly delve into the Spanish way of life.

We’ll be kicking off the month with a trip to the Museo de Bellas Artes on Wednesday the 3rd, setting off from the school at 4pm. On Friday 5th November we will get a chance to really move our legs with a fun hike up to the summit of Monte Artxanda, one of the most beautiful spots to view the city down below.

Start off the week on a high by joining us for our cata de vinos on Monday the 8th at 7pm, before joining us on Wednesday the 10th for a thought-provoking visit to the Museo Guggenheim at 4pm. Why not come on a tour of Casco Viejo with us on Friday the 12th to discover more about the vibrant and varied history of our wonderful city!

Monday the 15th will be a nice chance to sit down with fellow students and enjoy an evening of pintxos in one of the local restaurants in Bilbao (leaving the School at 8.30pm). On Wednesday 17th November at 4pm, we will be going to the Catedral de Santiago to take in the splendours of this marvellous religious site. The week will finish on a sweet note with some delicious chocolate con churros (Friday 19th at 6pm).

Ever wanted to be able to explore another universe? Well now’s your chance with our trip to Bilbao’s Virtual Reality centre! We’ll be playing games via virtual reality headsets, getting an immersive experience in various imaginary worlds, on Monday 22nd November at 6pm. Come join us for another fun-filled cata de vinos on Wednesday 24th at 7pm, before we finish this jam-packed week with a truly fabulous treat at the Teatro Arriaga. Friday the 26th will be a special opportunity to see a performance by the world-famous dancer-turned-choreographer, Carlos Acosta. Don’t miss out on the chance to see what promises to be a truly unforgettable show.

November will come to a close with a dégustation of Iberian ham at a local restaurant dedicated exclusively to all things Spanish food (Monday the 29th).
