Lumières et Ombres by Violeta Parra : An Artistic Evening in Tribute to the Chilean Icon

On Wednesday 23 October, organised by Mª Paz López-Angulo, an artistic evening will take place. Thanks to the refined performances of Esther Lanzón and Carmen Martínez, we will plunge into the world of the emblematic Chilean artist, Violeta Parra. Her internationally acclaimed work has earned her birth date, 4 October, the title of Chilean Musicians' Day.

The show, entitled ‘Lumières et ombres de Violeta Parra’, invites us to discover the life of this itinerant artist, who, with her guitar slung over her shoulder, explored the rural and indigenous regions of Chile. Through her songs, imbued with beauty and pain, and the story of her complex but passionate journey, we will get closer to this unique figure, nicknamed ‘Violenta Parra’ by her brother Nicanor.

Esther Lanzón will perform some of Violeta Parra's most memorable songs, while Carmen Martínez will reveal the intensity of her relationship with music and her unique vision of life.

An aperitif featuring traditional products and Rioja wine will be offered at the end of the event.
