Navidades en Bilbao

In its 20 booths, local shops sell traditional sweets, Christmas decorations, and other local products for a month, from December 1st to January 5th. Opening hours: 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM from December 1, 2023, to January 5, 2024.

The traditional ice skating rink of 800 square meters and the toboggans will open at Arenal. You can enjoy a fun time with your friends and family. The rink will be open from November 30th to January 7th. Opening hours: Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

A total of 1,230,000 LED lights will light up the city, and you can stroll through the streets to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Various points in the city, including monuments on Gran Vía and the Bilbao City Hall, will be decorated with lights. The Christmas lights will be turned on starting November 29th, and the lighting will be from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM until January 7th.

The Christmas Children's Park will open its doors this year with many activities, fair attractions, and an ice rink. This event will take place at the BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre). From December 14th to January 5th, with opening hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Bilbao and the Santo Tomás Market come together every year for a unique celebration. On December 21st, citizens take to the streets to crowd the Plaza Nueva and the surroundings of El Arenal. It is the best opportunity to taste traditional Basque food such as talo with chorizo, txakoli, cheese, fruit, cider, and honey.

- Olentzero Parade: Olentzero will come down from his house in the mountains on Saturday, December 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM in Plaza Moyua, riding a giant pottoka horse and carrying a sack full of gifts to collect the last letters from the children of Bilbao.

- Three Kings Parade: Their Majesties, the Kings of the East—Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar—will return to Bilbao at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 5, to participate in the Three Kings Parade 2025. They will be accompanied by a procession of floats filled with lights, sounds, colors, and lively performers.
