Activities in May

Do you want to discover the cultural activities offered by the Hemingway Institute this May?  Every week we have unique activities so you can explore Bilbao, meet new people, and enjoy Basque culture.

Monday, May 5th: Jumpyard at 3:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. It’s an amusement park with trampolines, slides, climbing circuits – suitable for all types of people, all ages, etc.

Wednesday, May 7th: Beer Pong at 8:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. The game is a fun mix of agility and luck, usually involving two teams, each positioned at either end of the table. If the ball lands in a cup, the beer in it must be consumed by a member of the team on that side.

Fridays, May 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th: Pintxos at 8:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway.  A Basque culture classic couldn’t be left out: Pintxo nights. We’ll enjoy these small portions of food traditionally served in bars in the Basque Country – the perfect opportunity to socialize and savor traditional cuisine.

Wednesday, May 14th and Thursday, May 22nd: Wine Tasting at 7:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. Wine lovers can indulge in a tasting guided by experts. It’s a great chance to learn something about this popular beverage and try a delicious selection.

Thursday, May 15th: Casco Viejo Tour at 4:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. We’ll visit Bilbao’s Old Town and have the chance to admire the buildings and shops of the “Seven Streets.”

Tuesday, May 20th: Churros with Chocolate at 4:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. We invite you to try a typical Spanish dish. This treat offers a balanced contrast of flavors, blending the bittersweet taste of chocolate with the salty, oily aromas of the crispy churro.

Monday, May 26th: Guggenheim Visit at 4:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. Visit the iconic Guggenheim Museum. Immerse yourself in fascinating contemporary art exhibitions and admire the cutting-edge architecture of this emblematic place. An experience that blends artistic innovation with Bilbao’s cultural history.

Wednesday, May 28th: Cliffs at 3:00 PM at Instituto Hemingway. We’ll visit one of the most beautiful cliffs in Bilbao, with spectacular views of the sea.
