Events june 2025 in Bilbao
Summer is just around the corner, and Bilbao is ready to welcome it with events and activities perfect for enjoying the long days and cool summer evenings.
June brings with it concerts, festivals, fairs, and above all, the celebration of the city's founding.
June is also Pride Month, which will be celebrated in the streets of the city from June 13 to 26, with more than 70 activities taking place in Bilbao and surrounding areas. These will include special spaces for children and events ranging from science to music.
The celebrations also reach the big screen: from June 23 to 30, LGBTQ+ films selected for the 22nd edition of the Zinegoa Festival will be screened, accompanied by discussions and cultural encounters.
In addition to feature films focused on LGBTQ+ themes, Bilbao will also host Caostica 2025, a festival that includes the screening of short films that break away from the mainstream. From June 2 to 8, Bilborock and other venues will host the 2025 edition of this international festival, offering everything from screenings to Q&A sessions with the directors.
But the June festivals don’t stop there. We move from cinema to other forms of artistic expression: dance and theatre. From June 4 to 7, the ACT Festival brings to Bilbao performances by artists from all over the world in a creative international atmosphere.
There’s also plenty for book lovers: the Bilbao Book Fair livens up the Paseo del Arenal starting on May 30, with book exhibitions, debates, and meetings with authors through to June 8.
June also sets the stage for the Bilbao BBK Live Festival, which will take place from July 10 to 12. As a preview of what’s to come, a free warm-up event will take place on Saturday, June 7 in the La Peña–Abusu neighbourhood of Bilbao, featuring music for all tastes.
Outdoor concerts continue throughout the city thanks to MusikAuzo, an initiative by the Bilbao City Council. This series of open-air concerts across Bilbao’s neighbourhoods will last until June 28, offering a wide variety of performances including styles such as folk, jazz, and world music like samba.
The most important event of June arrives on the second weekend of the month, with two days of celebrations for the anniversary of the founding of Bilbao. The festival is called Gau Zuria, and this year marks the 725th anniversary of the city. On June 13 and 14, the streets of Bilbao will fill with music, performing arts, and spectacular displays of lights, colours, and sound.
June is a month full of festivities and fun — so what are you waiting for? Come and visit Bilbao!
