January 2026 Activities

Start 2026 with us! Instituto Hemingay has prepared a selection of activities to enjoy during January and Bilbao's culture.

On Monday, January 12, at 5:00 p.m., we will start the week by discovering one of Spain's most iconic dishes: tortilla. We will learn about its regional variations and, of course, taste it at a local bar.

On Tuesday, January 13, at 4:00 p.m., we will explore the fascinating Museum of Illusions, a space full of visual effects, perception games, and perfect spots for fun photos. A surprising and interactive visit.

On Wednesday, January 14, at 4:00 p.m., we will discover the Guggenheim Museum, famous for its sculptural design and impressive exhibitions, a visual experience that captivates from the very first moment.

On Friday, January 16, at 8:00 p.m., we will end the week with a night of pintxos, ideal for socializing and discovering new gastronomic flavors.

On Monday, January 19, at 4:30 p.m., we will visit one of the emblems of the Basque Country and a World Heritage Site, the Bizkaia Suspension Bridge. A journey through its industrial history and its impressive views over the estuary.

On Wednesday, January 21, at 7:00 p.m., we will enjoy a wine tasting where we will learn to appreciate the aromas, flavors, and nuances of different local varieties. A perfect sensory experience for wine lovers.

On Thursday, January 22, at 5:00 p.m., we will share some delicious churros with chocolate, a classic and comforting snack, ideal for a quiet and pleasant afternoon.

On Friday, January 23rd at 8:00 p.m., we will have another pintxo night to try new flavors of Basque culture.

On Thursday, January 29th, at 5:00 p.m., we will visit the majestic Cathedral of Santiago, a building steeped in history, art, and tradition, located in the heart of Casco Viejo.

On Friday, January 30th, at 8:00 p.m., we will end the month with more pintxos, perfect for saying goodbye to January with good food and excellent company.
