Cultural Activities – May 2026

May is here, and after the Labor Day long weekend, we have a series of activities and new experiences that may interest students of Spanish courses in Bilbao!

On May 5th, we are planning to go out and enjoy some delicious Iberian ham sandwiches. A classic that allows students to discover Spain’s simple yet delicious gastronomy.

Then, on May 7th, we will visit the Hanging Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural landmark. We will also take a walk around the area and explore Las Arenas.

On May 11th, we are introducing something new: a short Basque language class so that students can learn some words, expressions, and interesting facts about the co-official language of the Basque Country.

On May 13th, to get active, we will go on a bike ride around the city. We will follow the Bidegorris, the bike lanes that run throughout Bilbao.

On May 19th, we will offer the unique experience of tasting Gildas and Txakolí in the city center.

This small gathering will be the prelude to another new activity: Karaoke Night. We hope your voices are warmed up by then!

Finally, at the end of the month, a visit to the Athletic Club Bilbao Museum will show us the history of “the Lions.”

As always, the month will include wine tastings organized by Alfredo, classic pintxos nights, and of course, plenty of Spanish practice.
