CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OCTOBER 2026 – SPANISH COURSES IN BILBAO

With us coming into Autumn soon, it also means that october starts and we find ourselves with another month packed with fun activities that Instituto Hemingway offers its students completely free with our Spanish courses. 

We just want to highlight a few special activities this month: 

On the 5th of October: Wine tasting at 19:00 with Alfredo. A good time to be able to have a first taste into Spanish wine and to show you all our knowledge about it too, including specific vocabulary, flavours and textures that you might come across. 

On Saturday the 3rd of October we will be heading to a flamenco concert by Juanjo Navas with his incredible voice and multiple years of experience, this concert will make you better understand his art of flamenco in Bilbao.

This time of year will allow us to go and relax ourselves in the wonderful atmosphere of Café Iruña, with its stylised walls on the 19th of October at 18:00. This café with its mozarabic touches brings us closer to the mosaics of Southern Spain.

On the 21st of Octuber we will visit Derio cemetery to get to know some important figures of the Bilboan Pantheon as well as learning some specific vocabulary within the context of the trip.

On thursday the 28th of October, we will get students together and go out for a good night at Karaoke!

All of these also being accompanied with other types of activities like going to the cinema, seeing the Guggenheim museum as well as the Museum of beautiful arts.
