How to get a student visa for Spain

Spanish student visas are need by participants from outside the European Union who want to spend more than 3 months studying Spanish in Spain.

This year we are starting to receive students from countries as far as China, Russia, Australia or the United States.  We will help you to carry out all of the steps to get your student visa, from giving you advice to helping you to enroll on one of our Spanish courses. You will also need medical insurance which is valid in Spain and the ability to be financially self-sufficient.     

At least two months advance notice is needed to be able to process your Spanish student visa since once we send you the enrollment documents you will need to make an appointment with the Spanish Consulate or Embassy in your country. Generally if you meet all of those requirements, the Spanish student visa is granted.

You have the option of doing Instituto Hemingway´s Spanish courses throughout Spain although you always need to come to Bilbao first to do a Spanish course here. You can apply for student visas for Spain at any time of the year and the Instituto does not charge anything extra, except the postage costs.

In the unlikely event that your application for a student visa is refused, we will refund all of the money except 100 Euros in line with our booking policy. It is easy to obtain student visas for Spain in contrast to work visas which require additional documentation and a long delay with few applications being accepted.
