Wine Tasting on the 14 March 2022 for our students of Spanish
On March 16 March we invite you to participate in a wine tasting at Instituto Hemingway. The tasting will take place on Monday, 16th at 7:30 p.m. The wines that we will present on this occasion, which we will be sampling in order of their age, all come from Ribera del Duero from the Valtoñar winery, and we are delighted with their fruitful flavors and intense red character.
These are wines from the VALTOÑAR winery, the result of the inspiration and hard work of a family of wine growers settled in the Ribera del Duero since at least the 17th century.
The name "VALTOÑAR" comes from a place on the Ribera del Duero where the cultivation of the grapevine dates back to time immemorial.
We are going to try three wines of different ages to learn about the evolution of aged wine in oak barrels. A "vertical" tasting with young, aged and reserved wines.
VALTOÑAR JOVEN Tinto
Intense cherry red with purple hues, rich, well-saturated, fresh, smooth and fruity.
VALTOÑAR CRIANZA red wine
More than 14 months in French oak barrels, sporting notes of a rich cherry flavour, complex toffee, vanilla, spices and ripe red fruits, easy and fruity in the mouth with a soft and spicy aftertaste.
The other is from VALTOÑAR Alvar Nuñez RESERVE 2017
It is a wine rated ´EXCELLENT´ and made with grapes from the oldest and most prestigious soils in one of our signature wineries. Its characteristics of intense red cherry, graet depth of flavour, very satiny primary aromas of dark fruit, balsamic notes, hints of spice, and vanilla, gives this a wine a firm body and noble tannins, balanced expressively wthat gives a lasting impression.
It is my great pleasure to invite all the students from the Spanish courses to come and share this fun, yet sophistocated adventure here with us at Instituto Hemingway. We hope to see you there!
