Table football
Tomorrow, Wednesday 13th December we’re back with another classic here at Instituto Hemingway, we’re going to play futbolín!
Futbolín is a board game based on football. It is played on a special table on which transverse axes with player shaped levers are rotated by players to hit the ball. Here in Spain, there are two versions of this game, having been created in parallel to what we are used to playing in other countries, with different measures. While in international futbolín players have their legs together, in Spain most are with their legs apart.
The players have to try to use the “dolls-players” mounted on the rotating bars to hit the ball towards the opponents goal. The futbolín can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h while playing, most of the time it’s really difficult to even see the ball, since it usually only appears as a blurred image.
This is one of our student’s favourite activities: it is a great opportunity to socialise with fellow students, enjoy a few drinks and have some fun! Come and join us, everything you have to do is write down your name on the board by our school reception!
Meeting point will be by our school at 18:00, we hope to see loads of you there!
