Course for teachers of Spanish (“ELE”)

Instituto Hemingway has created an updated version of the course for teachers of Spanish (“ELE”). This new edition includes the most recent methodological proposals, new contributions from the European Framework for Languages and the new reference levels for learning Spanish according to the curriculum laid out by Instituto Cervantes.

In addition, the course is offered through a Virtual Classroom that allows increased interaction with your teacher.

The virtual course lasts for 80 hours, which are structured around Teaching Units especially designed to allow the student to easily comprehend the material. Each unit boasts examples that enrich the content and demonstrate the dynamic of learning in the classroom. All Teaching Units end with a self-evaluation exercise and a test which is evaluated and checked by your assigned tutor. The corrected exercise is returned to the student with suggestions for improvement. The course ends with the expansion of an inter-curricular project, which is then marked by the team from Instituto Hemingway. Each student has a teacher at their disposal, with whom they are able to chat via phone, through the Online Learning Environment or by email.

The Virtual Classroom is a teaching platform that we use for the presentation of this course. By using this platform, the student has access to all the course content and complementary readings can carry out all the exercises and send them to the teacher. This allows self-evaluation to check the level of understanding of the previous content. In addition, the student is in constant contact with the teacher, who will check all exercises and direct the student´s learning. The Virtual Classroom also offers a forum and a specific chat area to pose questions and doubts to other people studying the course, as well as to the teachers modifying it.

The virtual functionality of the course allows the student to complete the course at his/her own pace. Each student can decide how quickly or slowly he/she completes the course and therefore when they will receive the Certificate at the end.
