Language Trends in the UK in 2023

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world and is spoken in 21 countries, from Spain to South America, to Africa. A recent report published by the British Council, which is a globally recognised educational establishment, confirms the popularity and importance of the Spanish language. This report published at the end of June 2023, states that for the 4th year running Spanish continues to be the language with the most A-Level entries. As well as this, it is the second most studied language at primary school level. This is the case in both state and independent schools, in the UK. The report highlights the large number of people that are learning Spanish and consequently promotes its importance on a global scale.
