Visit to the Maritime Museum of Bilbao

On Tuesday 23rd of January, Instituto Hemingway went on an excursion to Itsasmuseoa, the Maritime Museum of the city. This museum has a lot of rich history to delve into. The group of our students learnt about the interesting past of Bilbao.

We learnt about the naval history of this fantastic city and we explored the vital connection that Bilbao has with the sea, and the importance of the sea regarding the identity of the city. Did you know that Bilbao was a port? Or that Bilbao has many naval roots that actually formed the city itself?

We had the opportunity to experience Bilbao's naval heritage and see many historical artefacts, including navigation tools from many years ago through many ages.

The museum offered us an enriching experience. Everyone was totally fascinated when learning and living the culture of Bilbao, in an extraordinary way.
