Environmental and Social Work - Volunteering abroad
This summer we have availability for people who wish to participate in an internship combining social work and environmental projects. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in an environmental restoration project at a natural park in the North of Spain in association with local workers with social integration problems.
This is a magnificent opportunity for people who like doing outer work, being in contact with nature, and who have the capacity to solve conflicting situations, as well as bringing creative solutions, and helping to generate teamwork conditions. It is also a great opportunity for those who wish to improve the Spanish language.
Participants receive accommodation and pocket money for basic expenses. They will be accommodated with other international participants in an apartment with shared kitchen, bathroom, and living room.
The program takes place during two different periods:
- From June 15th to July 27th of 2008
- From August 20th to September 30th of 2008
Participants can join the program during a period of 2 weeks minimum.
This program also permits to combine Spanish classes with the Internship, so for those interested, they can take Spanish classes during one week minimum at the Instituto Hemingway headquarters in Bilbao and then go to the site of the program in the mountains.
