Barcelona F.C. vs. Bilbao Athletic F.C. The King’s Cup Final at Instituto Hemingway.

On 13th May, in Bilbao we have a special treat in store for students at Instituto Hemingway. After 25 years, the local football team, Bilbao Athletic, once again has the opportunity to win the King’s Cup. At Instituto Hemingway, we are supporting Athletic all the way, and invite students to watch the match here at the language school.
We will have a large screen and drinks available so that we can enjoy the match together.
Also, Bilbao is preparing itself for the event with its ‘¡A la Copa! Disfrútala en Bilbao’ to celebrate the day of the King’s Cup Final. It is hoped that this will be a spectacular event with 10 large screens being set up all over the city, “to make Bilbao and Vizcaya as a whole the centre of the party to celebrate Athletic’s success on this much-awaited day.”
This project has been endorsed by the City Council and private companies in Bilbao such as Dendak and the Vizcaya Hotel Enterprise which are “collaborating together so that the streets of Bilbao will be brought to life in support of Athletic.”
The City Council has organised the installation of the television screens so that everyone will be able to enjoy the match without leaving Bilbao. Also, the metro will be kept open all night especially for the event and security measures will be put in place to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible.
A total of 10 screens will be put up all over the city on the day of the King’s Cup final so that the crowd can watch the match while enjoying the party atmosphere in the street. In large commercial areas, in the city centre and in other districts of Bilbao, other activities are also being planned in support of the team.
