Diploma Español Lengua Extranjera: DELE Announcement August 2009

Make the most of your stay in Spain and sit the exam for the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) in any of the offered levels.

In August 2009 the exam will be held on August 21st. The time of enrolment is from the 13th of July until the 31st of July 2009. At this date the level A1 will not be offered.

The Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) are official qualifications, accrediting the level of competency and command of the Spanish language, which is granted by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Spain.

The Diploma in Spanish Level A1 accredits a level of linguistic competency sufficient for understanding and using common daily expressions used in anywhere in the Spanish speaking world, aimed to satisfy immediate needs.
The Diploma in Spanish Level B1 (Initial) accredits a level of linguistic competency sufficient for understanding and responding adequately to the most common situations in daily life and for communicating wants and needs in a basic manner.
The Diploma in Spanish Level B2 (Intermediate) accredits a level of linguistic competency sufficient for coping with common situations in daily life, under normal circumstances of communication which do not require a specialized use of language.

The Diploma in Spanish Level C2 (Superior) accredits a level of linguistic competency necessary for coping in situations that require a high level of language and knowledge of the culture and customs that the language presents.
