The advanced course for teachers is already prepared

We have created an advanced Spanish course (ELE) for teachers. Throughout this course; training for teaching Spanish as a foreign language, we will give you training on current issues and also books on teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The course is aimed at teachers that endorse certain teaching practices and require new tools that match its teaching. This course offers the possibility of knowing innovative aspects of teaching Spanish or relevant current issues in depth. We wanted to create a course that is constantly updated and that picks up on current issues on teaching ELE.

The course is divided into various modules with corresponding exercises and self-assessment. The reader will realise that there is neither a unique way of teaching nor a unique way of learning so, on numerous occasions the reader themselves will be the one who has to make decisions and justify them according to the parameters that we offer throughout the course.

Part of the course is divided in the following way:

Module 1: Teaching Grammar
Module 2: Processing errors
Module 3: Specific Groups
Module 4: Spanish for specific purposes
Module 5: ICT in the teaching of ELE.

All the modules have exercises or a practical that you must complete and send to the professor in charge of evaluating them and commenting on them. (You must not confuse them with self-assessments which are objective questions that the system corrects automatically, which are used so that each student can test their level of understanding and it is recommended to do them before doing the exercise).

Once the course is finished the student hands in a thoroughly completed self-assessment that corresponds to each exercise or practical and each module.

As well as basic contents, there are also additional contents that can be found in the virtual classroom library and you can take articles, practicals, documents and exercises that widen and highlight the main contents of the course.

The duration of the course is estimated at 60 hours of work, taking into account that part of the modules includes self-assessment and exercises. The time spent can be extended depending on the reader’s dedication to the library, participation in chats and forums.

Once all the practicals and self-assessments are finalised, certificates confirming you have fully completed the ELE, will be handed out to the student.
