Course in how to write correctly in Spanish

Instituto Hemingway presents a course in written communications aimed at people who want to improve their written expression, and their capacity to write in different styles.

The course is aimed at Spanish natives, as well as ELE students at level C1 or C2. It is a highly practical course that includes lots of examples and there is a tutor who will help you to improve your written expression techniques and to polish your style.

The objectives of the course are to:



- Understand the basic principles of written communication and the key to a brief, clear, correct and appropriate style.

- Perfect written style, improving the choice of words and the construction of sentences and paragraphs.

- Improve the grammatical level and linguistic correction of our written composition: suitability, cohesion and grammar.

- Recognise the most frequent grammatical errors and learn how to avoid them.

- Perfect punctuation points in written compositions through means of practical exercises and examples.

- Understand different forms of written communication at work.

- Acquire the practical skill of writing business texts.

- Train in using different style of written communication.



The course is carried out online and lasts 30 hours. It is divided into 5 Didactic Units especially designed to help the student to learn the material. Each Unit has examples that enrich the content and creates the dynamic of learning in a classroom. All of the Didactic Units end with a self-assessed exercise and an exercise that is corrected and returned to the student as a way to improve. During the course you will write different texts that are evaluated by the team of teachers at Instituto Hemingway.

The course is based on a new tool, the Virtual Classroom. There you will find the course contents, a panel of advice and general interest articles that are frequently updated. You can also get in contact with your professor by email. The content area includes lessons, attachments etc. In the practical area you will find self-assessment exercises as well as the tests that you have to compete and return to the teacher for evaluation. The self-assessment exercises are objective tests that allow you to measure your own progress.


You can get in contact with the teachers and other students by means of the forum and chatroom.

The student is able to contact their tutor by telephone, written correspondence, or by email and of course in the Virtual Classroom.
