Instituto Hemingway reviews in Spain

After studying in Brighton for two years in Hospitality Management I wanted to study abroad for a year to learn a language and decided to learn Spanish as I have a lot of family living here and I like the language. Also I thought it would complement working in the service sector as Spanish nowadays is a very widely spoken language. I started to search on the internet for various courses which would allow me to take daily Spanish lessons and also learn more about the field of Hospitality. I found on the internet the language school “Instituto Hemingway” which is a popular language school which offers foreign students the chance to learn Spanish and later on they offered me the chance to work there for ten months, and I was very happy to accept. I would be attending Spanish classes for 3 months and then get to work in a hotel where I would be expected to take part in daily activities and organising, but before I started my work in the hotel I needed to have some intense Spanish classes to get me up to a certain level where I would be able to communicate with any of the people staying at the hotel and deal with their inquiries or problems.

I enrolled at the institute to have Spanish lessons for 3 months which I hoped would be enough to give me a starting point in being able to speak Spanish as I had previously studied Spanish at school when I was younger. With the four hours a day of Spanish lessons I hoped I would be able to pick the language up fairly quickly. As I am also living in Spain this gives me a big advantage as whenever I am faced with a problem I need to solve it in Spanish, so because of this I hope I will improve fairly quickly. The course has given me some more confidence in speaking Spanish with people but also allowed me to meet various people from different backgrounds and get to know about other countries as well as the part of Spain where I am staying.

Bilbao is in the north of Spain and is part of the Basque country. Bilbao has many different cultures that I have never experienced before and is very different to all the other parts of Spain I have visited before in my life. But I like the city and how different it is and that it is in the area of the Basque country, and that people here also speak Basque but that is a very hard language. I attend activities organised by the institute which encourages students to get to know other people and the culture of Bilbao. This is a great way of seeing all the tourists’ things in Bilbao.

When I finally finish my Spanish lessons in Spain I will then go to work in a hotel where I will be working in the Hospitality Management Sector. I will be working in a hotel which I hope will benefit my future career dreams of working in that particular sector and where I am putting all my skills to the test which I have learnt before coming to Spain. I hope I will be working in greeting the guests on their arrival to the hotel and showing them to their rooms, also making sure they have everything they want and if they are unhappy with anything to call me. I also hope to work some time in the catering area where I can work as a waitress but also in the preparation of the food in the kitchen. I also have experience in working on the front desk greeting guests on their arrival and answering of the phones.

My hospitality management reviews are excellent

After I finish my Spanish course I hope I will be at a high enough level to be put to good use while working in the hotel and that this will help me and benefit me in my future career in working in Hospitality Management. I will also continue to work in Bilbao for the whole ten months so will have the opportunity to know this city very well.
