Activities during Spanish course in Bilbao in May 2011

Instituto Hemingway fixed all the months by planning organised activities, the day, the time and the name of the activity. All the students on the Spanish courses are invited to take part. All the activities are free for Instituto Hemingway’s students. These activities are very interesting, fun and allow you to visit and explore Bilbao and its surroundings. Here are some examples of the activities for this month.

Thursday 5th May at 1:30pm in the afternoon, we have a visit to the Suspension Bridge in Portugalete. Portugalete is a city which is situated 14km of Bilbao and there is the Hanging bridge (brige of Biscaye Vizcaya in French) which is a bridge to transport the towns of Portugalete and Getxo. Portugalete is a very pretty and nice city.

Friday 6th May at 8pm in the evening, there is Tapas tasting and my French friends and I want to take part because we don’t know Tapas and its typical in Spain, we don’t want to go back to France without trying them.

Tuesday 10th May at 5pm in the afternoon, is a trip to try Churros con chocolate and I have tried these before with my friends and they are delicious.

Thursday 12th May at 1:30pm in the afternoon, we have organised a trip to Guernica, city the Vizcaya province, situated in the community Basque autonomy, in Spain. Guernica is also the name of a famous tables by Pablo Picasso.

Saturday 14th May at 9:00am in the morning, a trip to a mountain called Pagasarri. It’s a proposal from the bravest students where we walk up 671 metres of altitude to have a magnificent view of Bilbao. But I still think it is a beautiful trip and worth the effort.

Friday 27th May at 4pm in the afternoon, the Spanish students can visit the Museum of archaeological in Bilbao. The objective of this museum is to disseminate knowledge of the history of territory, connect the past with the today’s society to contribute its future projection.
