My experiences in Bilbao: a city that surprises you

When I arrived in Bilbao, I was quite surprised because the city was bigger than I had been expecting.

What I like most about the city are the shops, because they are huge and I really like all of them. In addition, there is a lot to do in Bilbao, and the nearby beaches are particularly beautiful.

Although I really miss my family, I certainly don’t regret having come to Bilbao because the city is really attractive and I’m looking forward to continuing to get to know it better and discovering more of its hidden gems.

Furthermore, Instituto Hemingway offers us extra opportunities to get to know the city thanks to the various activities that are organised every day for the students that are here to improve their Spanish.

But there are a few things that aren’t quite how I expected, such as the night life. I though that the people here would love to go out at night and dance in the clubs, but there is a much more prominent bar culture here instead.

In summary, I really like Bilbao and I am happy that I chose to do my work experience here, and I especially hope to be able to improve my Spanish during these 2 months.
