Students from our Spanish school have taken the official Instituto Cervantes exams
Various students from our Spanish school have taken the exams for Spanish as a Foreign Language (“DELE”) in the May exam period. These exams result in official titles, proving the level of competence in Spanish and are awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education. Currently 6 levels of the European Common Framework for Languages are available to the public, as set out by the European Commission: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
Some of our students attended special preparatory courses in order to do this exam, which are offered by our school. These are offered both in small groups as well as individually and at Instituto Hemingway we had students enrolled for B1, B2 and C2 (the highest level.)
The oral exams for the highest level took place on the 17th May, and the accompanying written exam three days later on the 20th. There was a total of 25 people in Bilbao taking the higher level and according to their opinions, the most difficult part of the exam was the section focussing on commonly used sayings and idioms.
The students will have to wait a while for the results, since they are not published until August. Our students were fantastically prepared and we are certain that they will pass. Good luck to them all!
