Spanish students in Bilbao: a weekend full of partying
I got on really well with all the French girls that were working here in Bilbao with Pelin and myself. It was for this reason that we decided to have a big party before the other girls all returned to France.
On Thursday we went to the club “Zona Zero,” where we know the DJ. Zona Zero is a club where you meet people from various countries, as well as being able to dance to hip-hop and reggaeton music. The evening flew past, but it didn’t matter, since we had bigger and better plans for the weekend.
On Friday we went with some DJs to a café-theatre called La Draga, where we met some people we’d already made friends with a few weeks previously, as well as dancing. We wanted to have a good time, and get to know new people as well. We went home at 5 in the morning and were already impatient for our next night out.
Finally, on Saturday, we were in the big shopping centre Zubiarte in the centre of town when we decided to go to San Mamés stadium in an attempt to see Shakira, where she was performing a night as part of her sell-out world tour. The doors to the stadium were open, which meant we were able to see – as well as hear - the star without having reserved tickets – they were all sold out long before we arrived here in Bilbao! At the very end of the night, we went home to get changed and then went to a few more bars to end our weekend full of dancing and fun.
The rest of the French girls all left on Sunday. And this is how us French interns spent this weekend just gone – there is a lot of fun to be had in Bilbao!
