Portugalete and the Puente Colgante with our Spanish students
This Tuesday, 11th October, our students took a trip to the pretty seaside town of Portugalete, to enjoy the good weather and to visit the famous Puente Colgante , or “hanging bridge”. This spectacular bridge was declared a World Heritage site a few yeas ago, the first in the Basque Country.
The students much enjoyed the unique experience of crossing the river by the gondola suspended below the bridge, and took in some very pretty views during the short journey. Across the river, we wandered around the charming town of Getxo, admiring the attractive scenery, historic port and impressive Getxo Mansions.
A sunny afternoon well spent!
