Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers invited to the USA and Canada as Visiting Professors for the 2011-2012 academic year
The Ministry of Education is advertising for Spanish teachers to go to the USA and Canada as Visiting Professors.
This is a magnificent opportunity for anyone who has specialist training in Spanish teaching. The requirements for applicants vary between regions, but all placements will provide a great experience for teachers who specialise in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
The visiting teachers will undertake temporary placements in an American or Canadian centre of primary or secondary education, working under a similar contract to that of the local teachers.
All teachers may apply for these placements, whether they teach primary or secondary and whether they teach in state or private institutions. This opportunity will surely be an enriching experience for the successful candidate, both professionally and personally, and will improve the quality of their teaching. This will benefit them in any future positions that they might take up in Spain, as well as in their teaching of Spanish to American and Canadian students, who are increasingly choosing to study Spanish as a second language.
This programme presents an exciting opportunity to work abroad and experience life in another country for the former and current students of the Instituto Hemingway Spanish as a Foreign Language teacher training course.
There are more than 175 places available in primary and secondary schools all over the USA and Canada. An announcement published in the 30th November edition of the BOE (Official State Journal) is available to download.
The closing date for applications is 20th December 2011.
