January programme of cultural activities in our Spanish school
At the Instituto Hemingway, we’ve started the New Year with a jam-packed timetable of cultural activities, for which our Spanish students may sign up completely free of charge. These activities serve as a fine complement to students’ language studies, and allow them better to discover the city and culture in good company.
For January, we’ve planned a great selection of exciting activities, such as:
Today, Friday 20th: Pintxos Tour. A trip around Bilbao’s Historic Quarter, in which you will find a wide variety of bars offering pintxos to suit all tastes. It’s a great way to spend a Friday evening: getting to know the Basque gastronomy, and swapping stories over a glass of txakoli.
Tuesday 24th: Comtemporary music concert. Organized by the Bilbao BBVA foundation to promote the diffusion of the most important music of the 20th and 21st centuries, this unique event presents an exciting opportunity to enjoy music in good company.
Friday 27th: Instituto Hemingway birthday party. We’re meeting in the Bar Bilbo Beer in Bilbao (Calle Amistad) to celebrate Hemingway’s “birthday”. We’ll be there from 21:00 until midnight, but the party is sure to carry on into the city.
Sunday 29th: Mount Pagasarri. We’ll be spending Sunday morning climbing this small mountain, a real natural gem located close to the city. The panoramic views from the summit are spectacular.
As always, you’re all very welcome to join in all of the activities.
Come on, join in the fun!
