A group of American students come to our Spanish school
This week, Instituto Hemingway is playing host to a group of young Americans who will stay with us throughout the Easter period.
These students are working on a project around the theme of “Holy Week in Spain” for their American school. We think that coming here was the best thing for them, because they will be able really to immerse themselves in the celebrations.
At the Instituto, we’ve made them a special programme of activities, which includes specific Easter activities such as visits to important churches, attendance of the daily Holy Week processions and a visit to the Museum of the Passages of Easter (a museum founded specifically to document the history of Holy Week in Bilbao, and to exhibit the city’s artistic and religious heritage).
The students are looking forward to really getting to know one of Spain’s most solemnly upheld traditions. Along with their local guide, they will be able to discover how Spainiards celebrate this period and what are the myths and realities of this ancient festival.
We hope that they enjoy their stay, and that they learn something really worthwhile.
