A group of French students come to our Spanish school

Our Spanish school recently welcomed a group of students from France, who will be staying with us for the next two months.

As you know, one of the programmes offered by Instituto Hemingway is the opportunity to undertake a work placement abroad.
Participants of this programme may work in all kinds of businesses in many different countries.

In the case of our French students, the programme offers them the opportunity to learn Spanish in an immersion context and to get up close and personal with the Spanish culture, as well as the chance to undertake work experience in various Spanish companies.

Three of the students are working right here with us at Instituto Hemingway. Chatting to us about their experience, they said: “We found the first few days in Bilbao quite difficult because we don’t speak Spanish very well, but now we’re getting more settled in”.

They also told us about their experiences discovering the city and meeting the local people, and the differences that they had noticed between Bilbao and France. “We’d like to explore the Basque Country some more, when the weather gets a bit better,” they laughed.
While it’s true that they haven’t had the best of luck with the weather, they’re so pleased to have been able to come to Spain that it doesn’t matter.

We’re sure that they will make full use of their time with us, and we’re pleased to be able to help them.
