Learn Spanish outside the classroom: There’s lots going on this weekend in Bilbao!
Is the rain is zapping your will to leave the house? Or maybe you feel like you’ve seen everything that Bilbao has to offer – or at least, everything that doesn’t involve spending a fortune. Fear not: here are some ideas to make sure that you live the city and the weekend to the full.
Yesterday (19th April), a new exhibition - “Parthenon, the seat of Athena” – opened in the Museum of Artistic Reproductions of Bilbao. This could be an ideal opportunity to get up close and personal with the art of the famous Greek temple, and marvel at over 50 sculptures.
You can discover the secrets of the ancient world’s most famous temple, and travel back through the History of Art without even leaving Bilbao. And the best part is: it’s free!
If you prefer paintings to sculpture, tomorrow (Saturday 21st) at 8pm you can take a tour of the “Apetit Gallery Bilbao”, again free of charge. There, you will find an exhibition of works by the Madrid-born artist Ana de Dios: a series of paintings, illustrations and other surprises, created variously in Madrid and Berlin.
And on Sunday at 4.30pm in the Plaza Circular, you can enjoy an exhibition by Walking Gallery. This group represents a daring and dynamic attempt to exhibit artistic projects in the street.
There’s no excuse for staying at home
Have a good weekend!
